Sankofa Community Empowerment is highlighting the success of the movie “Black Panther” during its “Sankofa Discussion Circle” Thursday, March 29, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Emeline’s located at 373 Lewis Ave. in Brooklyn.

The discussion is part of Sankofa Community Empowerment’s 2018 Welcome to Wakanda Series and will use the film to explore a variety of themes related to the condition of Black people throughout the Diaspora.

The first session of the series will explore the film’s concept as it relates to the agency of Black women throughout history and as depicted in the movie.
