The National Action Network is hosting a free financial education workshop Saturday, April 28, at noon at the House of Justice, 106 W. 145th St. in Harlem.
The workshop will teach women of color financial concepts that will shape their thinking about how to save, invest, address their credit challenges and obtain financial security and provide day-to-day tools and resources to enhance their financial mindset.
According to the Center for American Progress, in the American economy, women of color face greater economic segmentation and disadvantage than any other social demographic. Although women of color have higher college completion rates than their male counterparts, half of all single Black and Hispanic women have zero or negative wealth.
Women of color take less financial risk because of a lack of information and knowledge.
The workshop is free but you participants must pre-register at bit.ly/jointhefew or sign up at the House of Justice front counter.
