2019 Designs by Alice McCall (261992)

Australian fashion designer Alice McCall’s collection, shown on the second day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, made a smashing showing at the Resort ’19 shows.

Just before her show, the day was filled with show-stopping moments and back-to-back incredible collections. Starting the presentations was Swim with Ellie Gonsalves, opening the show with FELLA. There was a group show that featured the companies Camp Cover Swim, Duskill and Pam Pam.

The day led to some thrilling moments with models walking down a garden runway at Lee Mathews, and then the night sparked into bright lights with the crowd’s favorite, McCall. Folks were taken on a long journey with resident cool-kids Double Rainbouu at the Lansdowne Chippendale. Here, fabulous models stomped and strutted down the purple carpet in a striking and stunning clash of colors and prints.

For Resort ’19, the Alice McCall brand focuses on intricate detailing season after season. The uniquely feminine clothes play with the graphic use of space and color while experimenting with fabric techniques, from delicate hand embroidery to custom in-house designed laces. The concept of craft is something that remains core to the brand’s DNA. The resulting products are pretty, feminine, chic and bohemian. Nevertheless, McCall’s designs are recognizable.
