Spike Lee and Brooklyn celebrate Prince’s 60th birthday

Filmmaker and Brooklyn’s own Spike Lee hosted his third annual Prince Born Day Purple People Party all day Saturday, June 9, at Restoration Plaza, Bed-Stuy. Approximately a few thousand partied during the whole-day event alongside DJ and radio host DJ Calloway and human beatbox icon and rapper Dougie Fresh. Old and young partied up until the final record of the early evening, “1999.” With music supplied by DJ Spinna, vendors, locals, travelers, visitors and artists had fun at the big, free, annual shindig!
