Kwame Kilpatrick, the former mayor of Detroit who was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison, wants President Trump to commute his sentence. In a long Facebook post, he enumerated the reasons why he feels he should be pardoned.
In 2013, Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28 years of imprisonment after being convicted of over 24 felonies which included extortion and racketeering. It was also discovered that he had several exchanges of sexually explicit text messages with his chief of staff Christine Beatty… while they were both married.
