For the last two weeks, bartenders and mixologists have been throwing it down and mixing it up at restaurants and bars all over Upper Manhattan. They do that on the regular, you say. However, while doing it, they have also been competing in The Art of the Mix cocktail competition.

More than 15 mixologists created original cocktails featuring Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye. Patrons of each of the participating bars had the opportunity to sample and vote for their favorite beverage via Instagram @theartofthemix.

Presented by Harlem Park to Park (@harlempark2park) and Good Ice Marketing and powered by Jack Daniel’s, the Showdown Finale will be Monday, Nov. 5, at The Museum of the City of New York, 6-10 p.m. There, the 12 finalists will mix up their signature cocktails in front of a live audience over a three-round battle before a panel of judges.

The two remaining contestants will be asked to create a new Jack Daniel’s cocktail, using surprise ingredients, for the winning title. Drinks will be judged on creativity, taste/complexity, originality and the “crowd factor.” Plus, the top uptown DJs will be mixing and scratching it up as they face off for a battle of hip-hop classics in three rounds—’80s, ’90s and freestyle.

It is sure to be a good time! For more information and to RSVP for the event, visit www.theartofthemix.com.
