Sistas’ Place in Brooklyn is hosting a reading of the Douglas Turner Ward play “Day of Absence” on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.

The 1965 play takes place in a fictional Southern town where all of the Black resident disappear for one day and highlights the dependence society has on African Americans while examining racism.

There will be a discussion after the reading. Admission is free.

Sistas’ Place is located at 456 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn.
