On Monday, Feb. 11, at Ziegfeld Ballroom, the National CARES Mentoring Movement presented its fourth annual “For the Love of Our Children” gala, featuring a special appearance by the evening’s Honorary Chair, Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys, and co-hosted by TV host and award-winning journalist Tamron Hall and best-selling author and professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. This year’s honorees include Tony Award-nominated actress and producer LaTanya Richardson Jackson and twin sisters Deryl McKissack and Cheryl McKissack Daniel of McKissack & McKissack, the oldest women/minority-owned professional design and construction firm in the United States.
