Get ready to eat, eat, eat in Harlem, all over Harlem, again. It is time for Harlem Restaurant Week, which began on Aug. 19 and ends on Sept. 1. This new Harlem Restaurant Week is a joint effort between Harlem Park to Park, Frederick Douglass Blvd Alliance, Uptown Grand Central, Union Settlement, Bradhurst Merchants Association, New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement and Harlem Week/Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, with support from Empire State Development’s Harlem Community Development Corporation and Division of Tourism/I LOVE NY. It is comprehensively Harlem, to say the least.

“This collaborative effort takes us one step closer by combining our efforts with the backing of the city and state to shine a spotlight on these businesses and this wonderful neighborhood they call home,” says Nikoa Evans Hendricks, executive director of Harlem Park to Park. “Harlem Restaurant Week is a centerpiece of the neighborhood’s efforts to promote its vast array of cultures and cuisines each year,” said Curtis Archer, president of the Harlem Community Development Corporation. ”We look forward to celebrating Harlem’s local businesses, community organizations and great restaurants this week and all year-round.”

With over 35 restaurants, eateries and cafes participating from East, West and Central Harlem you can try some new openings like chef JJ Johnson’s FieldTrip or East Harlem Bottling Company. The promotions vary at each location with prix fixe lunch and dinner hovering around $20 and $35, respectively.
