Schwartz is the German word for Black. So, anyway, two white Schwartzes have committed heinous crimes with no punishment proportionate to their crimes. Until recently they were both on the New York City payroll with huge salaries. The first white Schwartz is Charles Schwartz: 23 years ago, he was a New York City Police officer. In that capacity he was charged in the participation and attempted coverup of the torture and sodomization of Abner Louima. Schwartz was in fact the person charged with actually holding down Abner Louima as another NYPD officer, Justin Volpe, ruptured Louima’s gastrointestinal track by shoving a stick into his rectum. Schwartz was convicted for perjury and released from prison after serving only five of the original 15 years to which he had been sentenced. After his release he was hired by Con Edison but quickly fired a month later, allegedly, because of the potential impact of his notoriety on Con Edison’s business. The Con Ed firing may have just been a diversionary stunt because very soon after Schwartz was fired, he returned, under the radar, to the life with which he was most familiar. That is a life eating from the public trough.
The NYC Housing Authority initially slipped him into a job as a maintenance man. Did anyone out there hear as much as a peep about it from our Blue State white politicians or our asleep-at-the-wheel Black politicians. See, color doesn’t matter. That’s why this Schwartz has in a few short years been elevated from maintenance man to a 6-figure job as a NYC “Housing Authority Carpenter.” Is this a Hate Crime? How about a Sex Crime? Nope he’s not on either list. Though charged with worse, he was only convicted of perjury in the events related to Abner Louima. Justin Volpe, the guy who shoved the stick, is scheduled for release in August of 2025. The other cops in that station house who heard Louima screaming but did nothing to stop his attacker have never served a day.
Slave the children
Another Schwartz, Jacob, was earning a $66,000 per year salary on the staff of Mayor de Blasio, a “progressive” put into office with overwhelming African American support. Jacob’s father, Arthur, has history as a Democratic district leader in Greenwich Village who coincidentally represented parents quite correctly challenging Mayor Bloomberg’s appointment of Catherine Black as Schools Chancellor (another white Black). The son, Jacob Schwartz, is a former president of the Manhattan Young Democrats. In 2017 he was found with thousands of child porn photos and videos of children as young as 6 months old on his laptop. Has anyone heard a report on what color these children are. How about the children in the Penn State Sandusky Case? That’s right, I forgot, color doesn’t matter. Whatever color, we know this is a horrible crime involving trafficking and violence against children. Consequently, a few weeks ago, Matthew Eric Dolven, a white man in Minnesota––another, “Blue State”––was sentenced to 30 years for child porn. Contrast that with the fact that here in “progressive” New York, six months ago Jacob Schwartz was sentenced to only 1 to 3 years. His parole hearing is scheduled for March 9.
Red, Black and Blue
In Blue NYS and in perhaps even Bluer NYC Jacob might have escaped punishment at all if he had offered the same defense as 45-year-old Joseph Gobrick of Michigan, a Red State. Gobrick said he was innocent of his child porn case because he was actually a little girl himself. That was Iowa, however. In New York, Gobrick could have actually changed his birth certificate to reflect his assertion (at least with respect to his gender, not his age) and who knows where he would have been housed. In Michigan they sent Gobrick to big boy prison not little girl prison. Shades of Rachel Dolezal! Score 1 for Ben Shapiro!
In New York never call a spade a spade
Compare the fate of these two criminal white Blacks to that of two non-criminal black, Blacks (Black, as in of African ancestry). A few years ago, one, the principal at Brooklyn Technical High School, Dr. Lee McCaskill and the other, his wife Ms. Cathy Furman McCaskill, on the staff of Boys and Girls High were forced out of their jobs as educators in the NYC school district essentially because they lived outside of the district where their daughter attended school. Special Commissioner for the Investigation of the New York City School District Richard J. Condon was instrumental in their removal. He labeled their alleged attempts to conceal their daughter’s true address as fraud and forgery and a bunch of other trumped up terms and recommended that Dr. McCaskill be placed on a list making him ineligible to work in the New York school system ever again. This was his recommendation despite the fact that Dr. McCaskill had a 95% graduation rate for the Black Boys in his school (an almost unheard-of statistic) and was getting record numbers of Black boys and girls to complete advanced placement science courses.
Double your standards double your gun
Talk about double standards! Within days of firing the McCaskills, School Chancellor Klein offered amnesty to anyone in the same position as the McCaskills who came forward. Some 142 school employees in the same situation as the McCaskills came forward and received no punishment. This included 10 other principals, 14 assistant principals, 86 teachers, 13 student support services employees, 7 secretaries, and 12 unspecified Department of Education employees. What color were they? You forgot. Color doesn’t matter.
One last word on double standards! When Condon commanded the police department he was never as punitive of police as he would later become of Black educators. Condon served as deputy commissioner of NYPD from 1986 to 1989 and commissioner of police from 1989 to January 1990. He was appointed by Mayor Ed Koch during Koch’s last days of office.
Condon had first met Koch many years before that in 1965 long before Koch’s hot romance with Bess Myerson, sic. In 1965, the chance meeting occurred when Condon was on patrol in Greenwich Village where Koch was, like Jacob Schwartz’s dad later would be, a Democratic district leader. Koch happened to be walking with poet Alan Ginsburg and Ginsburg’s domestic partner, Peter Orlovsky, when they ran into Condon. Orlovsky is also the son of Katherine Orlovsky, maiden name Schwarten, (white Blacks everywhere). Koch’s political platform at the time included promises “to liberalize state laws against sodomy, abortion and divorce.”
“Anybody here seen my old friend Condon”
So anyway, after this chance meeting, Condon, Ginsburg, Koch and Peter Orlovsky ended up going to a coffee shop. Forty years later Koch appointed Condon commissioner of police. Koch says he was very impressed during that first meeting with Condon because Condon already knew Ginsburg and was familiar with his poetry. Despite Condon’s Greenwich Village Liberal connections, if not roots, Condon never vigorously prosecuted police for violence against Blacks when he had the chance to do so.

According to a report by New York Newsday, published in Nov. 1991, the number of NYPD officers fired for brutality fell each year starting in 1988 despite a rise in complaints of excessive force (only six were fired in 1988, four in 1989, and one in 1990). Yet in his later job as Special Commissioner for the Investigation of the New York City School District, Condon recommended the permanent firing of multiple Black professionals including the McCaskills for violations as petty as a phony sick note. Fired forever for a sick note versus Schwartz fired for his role in the torture of Abner Louima, only to eventually be rehired by the city to make six figures.
As always there is a double standard for black Blacks and white Blacks. Yet the very real inequities experienced by Blacks do not qualify as hate crimes. Instead this article may be labeled as a hate crime because in New York the only real hate crime is calling a spade a spade.
