Reports indicate that Long Island Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Jean-Pierre is reportedly self-quarantined at home. She is the third state legislator to test positive for COVID-19.
“Today, I learned that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am now home and dong well and will continue working for New Yorkers remotely during these trying times until it is safe to end my self-quarantine,” Jean-Pierre said in a published statement.
She added that her staff is “heeding the health recommendations from the CDC and the Department of Health” to help in slowing the spread of the virus.
