Here is this week’s list of open and serving Harlem restaurants to try and support.

East Harlem: La Lechonera

(256 East 125th St., 212-996-1972, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily)

This family-run business has been making craveable pernil and other Puerto Rican food for 28 years. Order through Uber Eats or pick up safely. Make sure you get an order of their flan.

West Harlem: Harlem Shake

(www.harlemshakenyc.com, delivery & takeout)

They have been doing their thing since day one of this pandemic. Order your favorites from their website (use code TENOFF) and while you are there order a Harlem HERO Burger ($7) as a donation to our frontline healthcare workers—Harlem Shake will add a side of fries.

North Harlem: Tsion Cafe

(www.tsioncafe.com, 212-234-2070, Tuesday-Saturday, 2-8 p.m.)

Tsion Café is serving their Mediterranean Ethiopian fare plus wine and cocktails by delivery or safe curbside pick-up. We are looking forward to being a part of their unique vibe when we are able.

QUICK SAFETY TIPS:

Choose contactless delivery/pick up when ordering.

Pay online or through your smartphone if possible.

Immediately remove food containers from bags at the door.

Wash your hands and disinfect the outside of the containers before opening.

Decant all food onto your own dishes.

Refrigerate leftovers immediately and try to consume by the next day.
