Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the New York Blood Center has had to cancel many of their blood drives over the last few months. Officials say there is a critical need for blood donations across the country.

The New York Blood Center, GFP Real Estate, and the Union Square Partnership have teamed up to host a series of blood drives throughout the summer and fall to make donating as easy as possible.

A total of seven events have been hosted thus far at 27 Union Square West. Blood drives will take place Oct. 7 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on

Each donation made saves three lives. So far 238 donations have been made thus far, meaning 714 lives saved.
