New York City public schools will close due to rising COVID-19 rates.
“New York City has reached the 3% testing positivity 7-day average threshold. Unfortunately, this means public school buildings will be closed as of tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 19, out an abundance of caution,” said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in a tweet.
With more than 1.1 million students the New York City public school system is the largest in the United States.
This is a developing story.
