Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the dates for the special election for City Council’s 15th and 11th Districts.

De Blasio declared March 23 as the date for the special elections to elect a council member to serve until Dec. 31, 2021. The date, within the window allowed by the City Charter, will give residents the chance to make decisions about whom they want to elect.

The 15th District City Council seat was vacated by Ritchie Torres, who was elected in November to the U.S. Congress, and the 11th District seat was vacated by Andrew Cohen, who was elected to the New York Supreme Court’s 12th Judicial District.

Eligible Bronx voters can participate with early voting, in-person voting, or by returning an absentee ballot.
