Much like the USPS slogan, “through rain, sleet or snow,” New York City Winter Restaurant Week is here with that socially-distant touch we have all come to treasure…le sigh. Alas, what makes this Restaurant Week different, ironically, is it is not about us. It is about our restaurants, the cornerstones of many neighborhoods, and their survival during this pandemic.
Running through Jan. 31 (and potentially beyond), your favorite NYC restaurants are preparing full meals to go or outdoor dine for the crazy affordable price of just $20.21, in honor of the new year. That is $20.21 for lunch or dinner––an appy-app or side dish, main and dessert. With that price there is plenty of room for a generous tip.
As a sign of these unprecedented times, NYC Restaurant Week has welcomed over 570 restaurants to participate from all five boroughs, an increase of about 75% over past restaurant weeks. Here in Harlem is no different. Years past there might have been a dozen or fewer participating. Today, there are over 36 restaurants in Harlem and East Harlem serving it up! Brava!
So, if nothing from above has convinced you to dig in to NYC Winter Restaurant Week 2021, have a confab with your belly while you peruse the participating restaurants and their menus at www.nycgo.com/restaurant-week. Support, support, support!
