I hope you got out in these streets and/or on your smart phones and supported the over 35 Harlem and East Harlem restaurants that participated in NYC Winter Restaurant Week 2021. No?! Well it has been extended through the end of February! There are some gems in there and I will now try more, more, more.

So excited for the extension because now you too can get your full life at Vinateria. Their Restaurant Week offering was simple, house-made rigatoni or mafalde with a choice of sauce: bolognese, vodka sauce or alla Norma. Served with a respectable winter salad of greens, treviso and a divine dressing that was bright and light and not too acidic.

Though the pasta was everything I needed in life on a winter’s night, the winner of this Restaurant Week offering was the dessert. Billed as a triple chip cookie, what I received was a small box of heaven.

Yes, the triple chip cookie was in there and delicious. Add to that a perfect oatmeal raisin cookie and a s’mores cookie that was half marshmallow and meringue and half cookie. However, the clear star of this box was the dense toffee blondie with a nugget of toffee in it plus a passionfruit drizzle.

This one, you need only be about. Get at it!
