Queens Borough President Donovan Richards presented his first “State of the Borough” address on March 3. The address was delivered virtually and streamed online on the Queens Borough president’s website, YouTube and Facebook.
During his speech, Richards said Queens will lead the way out of the COVID-19 pandemic and addressed health, economic, racial and gender disparities plaguing the borough. Richards also highlighted a comprehensive vision to deal with injustices in health care delivery, housing, transportation, environmental policy in Queens.
Richards was inaugurated the first Black man to serve as Queens Borough president in December after a special election. He replaced Malinda Katz, who was elected Queens County district attorney.
