United Way of New York City (UWNYC) recently held their 15th Annual Power of Women to Make A Difference Luncheon, featuring a keynote address from Misty Copeland, who has broken barriers and inspired women since becoming the first African American Female Principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre.

The annual Power of Women to Make a Difference luncheon, which was virtual this year, honors exceptional women who have made significant contributions in business leadership, philanthropy and community involvement.

Hosted by Cindy Hsu, Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter at “CBS 2 News New York,” this year’s virtual event honored Vice Media’s global chief marketing officer Nadja Bellan-White, Goldman Sachs’ Engineering Division’s Global chief operating officer Lisa Opoku and JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s chief financial officer Jennifer Piepszak.

The event raised $711,220 to support United Way of New York City’s education program ReadNYC, a campaign to improve grade-level reading across New York City.
