The Metropolitan Black Bar Association hosted its 37th anniversary Awards Gala virtually. Chief Operating Officer of the NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research Rosemonde Pierre-Louis was awarded the Public Servant of the Year Award.

Each year, the Awards Gala celebrates the past year’s accomplishments as well as raises funds to benefit the next generation of legal professionals with financial aid, scholarships and mentoring.

Other honorees at this year’s event included Alphonzo A. Grant Jr., managing director at Morgan Stanley, who was named Trailblazer of the Year; the Hon. Cheryl E. Chambers, associate justice of the Appellate Division in Second Judicial Department on the New York State Supreme Court, who was given the Jurist of the Year award; Kevin Clunis, senior vice president of Legal at Ross Stores, Inc., who was named Corporate Counsel of the Year; and Lori Anne Douglass, a partner at Douglass Rademacher LLP, who received the Private Practitioner of the Year award.
