The queer and/or trans people of color grassroots collective Brooklyn Liberation (www.brooklynliberation.com) held a march and rally for trans youth in front of the Brooklyn Museum last Sunday, June 13. Mama Marsha, an event speaker, called out to the crowd: “No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us!” The event was a call to action for trans people of color to be seen and to show anger about the more than 100 anti-trans bills passed this year in over 34 states. “For us, this march is extremely important—so that the people meeting us see trans queers,” another speaker said as the march commenced.
