Saluting the Hon. David N. Dinkins, Cicely Tyson, and Chadwick Boseman, Harlem’s 47th Harlem Week returned this week.

Off the heels of the unprecedented COVID pandemic, the 47th annual Harlem Week taking place Aug. 6-15 is a “REIMAGINED” 10 day live and virtual experience celebrating the people, arts, culture, entertainment and history that Harlem is known for throughout the world. This year’s Harlem Week celebration will salute the life, contributions and legacy of the late Hon. David Dinkins, New York City’s first Black mayor, who passed away in November 2020.

Additional marquee events include: Senior Citizens Day, Great Jazz on the Great Hill, Youth Conference & Hackathon, Charles B. Rangel Systemic Racism Summit, An Evening with H. Carl McCall & Congressman Charles Rangel, Harlem On My Mind: One on One, Economic Development Day (8/11; this event will feature key discussions on community development, banking and finance, technology, and cybersecurity), the Virtual Health Summit, Broadway Reimagined, Luke Cage: Harlem’s Super Hero, and Harlem Day.
