The Fountain Avenue Community Development Corp. (FACDC) and the Daughters of Jerusalem and Sisters of Mercy of Ninth Tabernacle Beth El gave away nearly 170 backpacks filled with school supplies for their 6th annual Free Back-to-School Supplies Give-Away.
The event took place at FACDC’s location in Brooklyn. Backpacks were filled with school supplies, books and small toys and games for children in grades K through 12. In addition, “Sunshine Boxes” filled with COVID-19 supplies, treats and trinkets were given for elementary school children.
Donations were given by Target, Staples, BJ’s, Dollar Days and First Book, Inc.
FACDC is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit faith-based organization founded in 1998. The organization’s mission is to provide social services to children and families in the city, especially in East New York Brooklyn. Their office is located in Ninth Tabernacle Beth El.
