Reports indicate that civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson was hospitalized after a fall at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
Jackson, 80, was at the historically Black university meeting with the school’s president Wayne A.I. Frederick and students about housing conditions on the campus. Jackson was taken to Howard University hospital where doctors ran tests and kept him overnight for observation.
In a post on Twitter, Jackson’s daughter, Santita, said he was “resting comfortably and doing well.”
Jackson spent time in the hospital in August after testing positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19. He was fully vaccinated and has since recovered. Jackson was in the city last month celebrating his 80th birthday with Rev. Al Sharpton at the National Action Network.
