In a virtual conclave, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Co-Chairs Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Calvin Butts, and more than 100 of the nation’s leading Black pastors will discuss the progress that has been achieved in the fight to educate the public and increase COVID-19 vaccination rates in the Black community—and the urgent need to accelerate this effort.

The conclave will take place on Friday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be livestreamed on Facebook (facebook.com/CHLactionplan/) and YouTube. The event is being hosted by Debra Fraser-Howze, founder, Choose Healthy Life and moderated by Reed Tuckson, M.D., FACP, co-founder Black Coalition Against COVID-19.

Topics that will be covered include, the latest guidance on COVID-19 vaccine recommendations, boosters, and shots for children, insights from the community with the National Black Clergy Health Leadership Council and Choose Healthy Life’s community-based approach using Health Navigators within the community.
