St. Helena’s Church is hosting “Parkchester’s Annual Celebration of Kwanzaa” on Thursday, Dec. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The church is located at 1315 Olmstead Avenue in the Bronx. Attendees can also participate virtually on YouTube.
The program will celebrate the fifth principle “Nia (Purpose) which is a commitment to the collective vocation of building, developing, and defending our community, its culture and history in order to regain our historical initiative and greatness.” The event will feature performers, speakers and vendors.
This year’s message is “The mental becomes the physical and the physical becomes the mental for healing.”
