When we last saw Big Daddy Kane lace up at the Barclays Center, it was to engage in lyrical warfare to see who was the supreme emcee, against fellow legend KRS One. On Feb. 10, the legendary Brooklynite once again finds himself thrust as the returning hometown hero as he graces the Barclays stage to display why he was one of the most dexterous, versatile rappers to touch the mic. In his prime, aside from being a heavyweight spitter, he donned the Prince of Darkness persona, which was often imitated but the duplication efforts fell short. Weathers (at the zenith of their pop success), to name a few so it should come as no surprise that his latest project finds him with a like-minded musician, together known as The Mack Pack, none other than Morris Day for their single “Grown Man.” The two recently completed a video for the song in Las Vegas. Having these collaborations on his discography it should also come as no surprise to find Kane as a featured act on Ladies Night R&B Super Jam, with a lineup featuring Boyz II Men, Keyshia Cole, El DeBarge, Musiq Soulchild, Tank, Ginuwine, Avant, Dru Hill and Funk Flex.

The Valentine’s All-Star Comedy Show is back at the NJPAC’s Prudential Hall Betty Wold Johnson stage (1 Center Street Newark, N.J.), with a star-studded lineup of comics you know and love and if not, you later will. Headlined by Newark’s own, Mr. “Booty Call” Bill Bellamy. Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore, the queen of Instagram comedy with over five million followers, Lavell Crawford and Freddie Ricks round out the impressive list of performers. Tri State, we not done as we hear that a collection of great young vocalists are enlisted at Foxwoods Resort Casino Premier Theater in The Fox Tower (350 Trolley Line Blvd, Mashantucket, Conn.) for An Evening of Love. A night of romance and melodic sounds is promised as Amerie, Mario, Bobby V, Lloyd, and J Holiday unite for a night of love, passion, and music. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com and the Foxwoods Box Office which is open on show dates only beginning at 2 p.m. until one hour after showtime.

Keep in mind what’s paramount in all this: SAFETY. All the venues have COVID protocols in place which include the wearing of masks while inside the venues.
