NEW YORK (AP) — A man was shot in the arm inside the waiting room at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx on Tuesday, police said.
The shooting happened at about 12:30 p.m., a police spokesperson said. The shooter fled. The victim was being treated at the hospital and was expected to recover, police said.
The shooting at Jacobi, part of New York City’s public hospital system, came four and a half years after a fatal shooting at another medical facility in the borough, Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Authorities said Dr. Henry Bello shot one person fatally and wounded six others on June 30, 2017 before taking his own life.
