Former U.S. President Barack Obama confirmed Sunday that he’s tested positive for COVID-19.
The nation’s first Black president announced the news on Twitter where he also confirmed that former First Lady Michelle Obama has tested negative.
“I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise,” Obama said. “Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative. It’s a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down.”
The Obama’s received their first COVID-19 vaccine doses in March 2021 and encouraged others to get the vaccine as well.
