Late fashion icon André Leon Talley was laid to rest Friday in Harlem at The Abyssinian Baptist Church, where he was member. The funeral was attended by several celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Gayle King, Tyra Banks and Bevy Smith. Several big names in the fashion world were also in attendance including Vogue magazine editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and designers Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg and Carolina Herrera. Talley died in January at age 73 from complications of a heart attack and COVID-19.

I knew Andre Leon Talley in 1983-84 when I worked in publicity at Barneys New York. We did some photo shoots together. I will always remember his kind, gracious, gentle and audacious manner.
