The Weeksville Heritage Center in Brooklyn (158 Buffalo Avenue) is hosting their Juneteenth Food Festival on June 18-19.

Presented by Weeksville Heritage Center in partnership with Jummy’s Picks by Black-Owned Brooklyn, the free community event was designed to reflect the diversity of Black Brooklyn, with 20 Black food vendors offering cuisine from 12 nations across the African Diaspora, with a focus on the U.S. South, given the roots of Juneteenth.

The festival will feature grilling by Breukelen Rub and red velvet cake from Brooklyn Sweet Spot, plus other dishes — including ample vegan options — from regions in the U.S. South, the Caribbean, Africa and Latin America. There will be Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel and Very Berry iced tea from Brooklyn Tea.
