Harlem Arts Alliance and the community honored photographer Kwame Brathwaite at his “Black Is Beautiful” Exhibition at the New York Historical Society Museum. The Alliance’s Ademola Olugebefola and Voza Rivers presented a plaque to Brathwaite’s son Kwame II at the Museum recognizing his work. The exhibition will be seen nation- and world-wide. He is noted for his photographs of “The Grandassa Models”—a positive image of people of African descent.
