Krasdale Foods and rapper Fat Joe joined forces on Tuesday to help soften the impact of grocery shopping for thousands of families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Across three of the Bronx-native’s UPNYC retail store locations, Fat Joe, Krasdale and Power to the Patients handed out a total of 3,000 grocery bags filled with Thanksgiving essentials such as frozen turkeys, chicken bouillon, beans, rice, cranberries, stuffing, and vegetables.

The groceries were provided by Krasdale’s CTown and Bravo Supermarkets along with a donation from non-profit organization, Power to the Patients, totaling over $80,000.

“This is something we’re incredibly proud to do,” said Gus Lebiak, Krasdale’s President and COO. “Giving back to the community is a cornerstone for our organization and is something that’s deeply rooted across all our CTown and Bravo grocery stores.”

Joining Fat Joe and Krasdale at the Thanksgiving Grocery Giveaway were Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson and other local elected officials. Entertainment was provided by DJ Tedsmooth with 94.7 The Block.
