President Joe Biden will join Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network (NAN) at the civil rights organization’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Breakfast scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16 in Washington, D.C.
Biden will deliver the keynote address at the event where Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Arndrea Waters King and other national leaders will be honored.
“In the last two years, President Biden has shown a relentless commitment to not only upholding but expanding civil rights in the United States,” said Sharpton. “As we prepare for a pivotal year ahead, with the future of democracy at stake, the National Action Network is thrilled to welcome President Biden to our annual MLK Day Breakfast. I look forward to hearing how we work together in 2023 to ensure we continue Dr. King’s dream for a fairer America.”
Sharpton is returning to New York later in the day for NAN’s annual Policy Forum at the House of Justice in Harlem where local and state elected officials will speak.

Rev. Al, when President Biden attends the MLK Breakfast don’t forget to remind him about his promise to Black Labor! Biden promised to deliver thousands of infrastructure construction jobs to Black workers. We are only 5 percent of the industry workforce – compared to 61 white and 30 Hispanic, legal and illegal. We face union discrimination and immigrant favoritism. For more information see The Daily Beast – https://www.thedailybeast.com/joe-biden-must-uphold-the-law-and-keep-his-promise-to-black-labor
Dear Rev Sharpton, I was in Selma for the Memorial for Bloody Sunday. The organization needs to be mindful of the public, who takes their energy and money to celebrate. There was no sitting around. I am 72 standing for 4 hours or more. Is down right torture. No one had water. The speakers should come out early. The main event is our taking that historical walk for our ancestors on the bridge. We Don’t mind the welcome addresses, However, the weather was hot, and no water. That’s was cruel. Please get organized and put the speeches early. No benches no where, I’m 73, And I had to sit down on the curb. Two men had to help me up.
I want to come back, but not like yesterday. Happy to be a NAN follower. Blessings Always 🙏❤️🙏
