Reverend Al Sharpton’s annual National Action Network (NAN) Convention 2024 kicks off this week from April 10-13. This year’s gathering features nationally recognized leaders in media, entertainment, government, civil rights, and business who use their platforms to advance justice.

The convention aims to highlight Black voter participation in the upcoming presidential election later this year, the fight to protect voting rights, equal access to education, healthcare equity, and other rights for Black and brown Americans.

There will be a series of workshops, fireside chats, luncheons, and discussions with leaders from several fields and New York elected officials. Sessions will also discuss vital issues such as grief in communities of color, gun violence, housing, economics, the attacks on diversity and inclusion, Black maternal health, empowering communities with digital rights, youth and college opportunity.

Guests for the week’s events include famed attorney Benjamin Crump, EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg, singer and health activist Al B. Sure!, and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, among so many others!

Sharpton led a ribbon cutting and opening remarks at Wednesday’s gala at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel.
