I recently went to see “ATTACK on TITAN” the musical at the New York City Center and WOW! What an absolutely electrifying time it was! As you know, the series itself ended back in 2022, which a lot of anime fans might consider to be the end of what they would call one of the greatest anime and mangakas to ever exist. As my friend and I sat down in the audience with our “AOT” shirts on, there were all kinds of AOT fans all around, and a current of excitement running throughout the room. Cosplays of characters such as Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Erwin, Hange, Survey Corps, etc. were represented. Many audience members, like my friend and I, were also rocking “AOT” shirts and accessories. The show started and I felt a bittersweet moment: Seeing this story and characters come to life again after some time was absolutely amazing yet sad to me Throughout the show, I cycled through various emotions — excitement, sadness, humor, anger, passion, and determination — all from the wonderful show that came to life in front of my eyes. And if you’re a fan of the AOT world, then you know that this story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.

I was absolutely in awe at the puppetry that took place during the show. What a way to bring these titans and beloved characters to life! From the artistry of the actors to the artistry of the lighting design, I felt absolutely electrified and hyped throughout this show, and the reactions of my fellow audience members made the experience infinitely better.

The last time I went to see an anime musical was “Sailor Moon the Musical,” and both productions were just exhilarating. I hope more anime/mangaka musicals come to New York in the future — it’s such a wonderful time and such brilliant work. If you didn’t get to see “ATTACK on TITAN” this time around, stay on the lookout for the next production, because it is worth it!
