Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso recently hosted the annual Black History Month celebration at Restoration Plaza’s Cultural Museum of African Art. The event, titled “Brooklyn is Africa: Lineage & Power Through the Arts,” attracted a large audience who enjoyed performances by the Noel Pointer Foundation string ensemble and the Brooklyn High School of the Arts jazz ensemble. Attendees also sampled cuisine prepared by Chef Lex and the Brownsville Community Culinary Center, and viewed the more than 3,000 art pieces collected by Eric Edwards that make up the museum’s collection.
