“Abbott Elementary” star and Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph and her husband of 20 years, Pennsylvania state senator Vincent Hughes, had a wedding vow renewal on July 30 on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art which Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky” character ran up and down every day to train for his fights. The ceremony was attended by 250 guests including Al Roker and Deborah Roberts, former “Young And The Restless” actress Victoria Rowell, members of Ralph’s and my sorority Delta Sigma Theta Inc, Philadelphia radio personalities Patty Jackson, Dyana Williams and “Tamron Hall” producer Adrienne Lopez. Ralph and Hughes have a non-traditional marriage where they have never lived together. Ralph recently told People magazine, “He has his life and I have mine.”
Bounce TV’s “Mind Your Business” star Rolonda Watts will present “Rolonda Watts & Friends – LIVE at Comedy In Harlem!” on August 8 at 8 p.m. Hosted by Nicky Sunshine, the show will feature Damien Lemon, Jonas, and some of Rolonda’s hilarious buddies.
Hip-Hop legend Busta Rhymes received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 1. Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy served as the emcee for the festivities where Busta was honored with the 2,818th star. Fellow rappers LL Cool J and Chuck D gave speeches.“When I think about Busta Rhymes’ awe-inspiring power commitment to his craft. Committed to excellence as an artist and performer…Busta was born to do something universal,” LL said.
