There is something very different about going to a musical that so many people have memorized. They know the exact call-and-response moments and the times to just shout out at the actors and what to shout. The dedication of the audience members to this classic out-of-this-world creative diamond brilliantly crafted by the book, music and lyrics creator Richard O’Brien is something inspiring to behold.

A delightful narrator introduces us to uptight couple Brad and Janet who have just gotten engaged. They are on their way to visit one of their former teachers, Dr. Scott, but then there’s a storm, their car breaks down, and they find an elaborate castle. They go inside for help, but they get a lot more than they could have ever bargained for. This castle is the home of Frank-N-Furter, a trans alien scientist from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania. Now, if hearing that doesn’t get your curiosity piqued, I don’t know what will. The other characters the encounter include Riff Raff, Magenta, and Columbia. It’s a wild ride as Brad and Janet find themselves among some of the most sexy, odd, and irresistible characters you will see on a Broadway stage. Whether you know this musical or not, you are in for an unforgettable adventure.
