Building collapse in Bed-Stuy near Tompkins Street and Fulton Street (150509)

Reports indicate that the FDNY responded to a building collapse in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

The empty four-story building is located at 1438 Fulton Street at Tompkins Avenue. Three people reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries.

There are traffic delays in the area due to street closures. Fulton Street is closed from New York Avenue to Albany Avenue and Tompkins Street is closed from Fulton Street to Macon Street, according to the Office of Emergency Management.

Officials are trying to determine the cause of the collapse.
