The Class of 2017 Armory College Prep scored a perfect 100 percent, as all 22 students secured acceptances to four year colleges to continue their educational careers this fall.

This amazing group of seniors received financial aid grant packages totaling more than $3 million for their four years of undergraduate studies, which covers an average of 72 percent of the total cost of attendance per student (before loans or family contributions).

“Armory College Prep opened me to more colleges and showed me that I can be a good college student who can go to one of the top colleges,” said Mazie Alexander, who graduated from the High School for Health Professions & Human Services and earned a full academic scholarship to Williams College, a private liberal arts college in Williamstown, Mass.

On June 20, the New York Yankees recognized Alexander, who aspires to be a neurosurgeon, and several other ACP scholars before their game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with an on-the-field ceremony.

The Armory College Prep High School Program provides college prep, essay writing support, test prep and academic counseling services to under-resourced New York City public high school students. All students who are in ACP originally came through their high school track and field teams.

Three years ago, ACP increased its outreach by offering services to middle school students from Washington Heights, Inwood and northern Harlem.
