The most disturbing reality in America is that almost 45 percent of the residents are proud of the Trump administration, and they think he is doing a good job. Many believe this thinking is only pervasive in the white community, but if you live in the suburbs it is probably your next door neighbor who also supports Trump, and that neighbor could be any culture or race.
Almost one out of two Americans are elated that Trump is a bully, and it does not matter what lie he tells today, yesterday or tomorrow. If 45 percent of Americans believe Trump is executing his conservative principals everywhere he goes, then he is a great president with a strong backbone.
When tyrants and international criminals control a country or a neighborhood, the residents are weak and powerless. The world and many Americans cannot believe that Trump won the presidency, but when you don’t vote, anyone can become your leader.
Once anyone is your leader, you start to accept any lie the leader tells you. America has reached that point, and each day more residents support Trump.
Last week Monday at a joint news conference with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Trump displayed weakness and a lack of preparation, which embarrassed all Americans and millions of world citizens around the globe. Some have accused Trump of treason, but most American would agree on incompetence.
“For a sitting U.S. president to say publicly that he believes a foreign leader over his own intelligence team is shocking and admonishable,” said Douglas Schoen of Fox News. “At a time when our democracy faces grave threats, it is deeply troubling that the president would side with the very country that attacked us.”
The only person making concessions from the very beginning of the news conference to the end was Trump. Trump’s failure to address and stand up to Russia for meddling in the election proves that the president’s companies are in debt to Russian banks. There is no telling who else Trump owes in Russia, and it could be possible that his life is in danger.
This egregious news conference was disgusting, and during the news conference Trump failed to address our NATO allies’ concerns. Trump refused to hold Russia and Putin responsible for illegal actions in Crimea and Ukraine and other territorial threats.
After the news conference, there was bipartisan outrage from both legislative houses, the media and even Fox News. Americans could not believe Trump refused to stand with U.S. intelligence, and Newt Gingrich said, “This was the worst day and the most serious mistake of Trump’s presidency.”
The Wall Street Journal said, “A personal and national embarrassment,” and The Weekly Standard said, “Congress should censure the president.”
Everywhere anyone turned there was a firestorm of criticism, and after 27 hours, Trump decided to quell the furor over his support of Putin.
Trump said he reviewed a video of his remarks with Putin after seeing the negative attention they received. He said that he misspoke during the news conference, and that he meant to say he saw no reason why it “wouldn’t” be Russia that interfered in the election. Citing a key sentence in his remarks, Trump said, “I said the word would instead of wouldn’t.”
Even though Trump never makes a mistake, this time he misspoke and all Americans and all over the world everyone should accept his explanation. As one of the most powerful men on the planet, Trump really does not care if you believe him.
It really does not matter if you believe him, because by tomorrow he will have told 10 more lies. Lying is what the president does, and Don Lemon said, “Can we still call the president the leader of the United States?”
Remember, 45 percent of Americans still say Trump is doing a good job, and anyone can make a mistake.
