The Bergen County Chapter of The Links, Inc. celebrates 45 years of service to the Bergen County community with its 14th annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at The Venetian in Garfield, N.J., on May 11.
“Working with community partners while serving others is the ultimate goal of our chapter,” stated Bergen County Links Chapter President Bettye Easley Bailey.
The 2019 Mother of the Year Award is being presented to Theresa F. Johnston of Teaneck, CEO/founder of Never Alone Again: Domestic Violence Organization and Resource Center. Johnston is a resident of Teaneck, N.J. Never Alone Again provides direct and indirect supportive services to victims and survivors of domestic violence to promote prevention of abuse through community outreach.
This year the organization will also be celebrating a rewarding 15 year community partnership with The Teaneck International Film Festival. Jeremy Lentz, executive director of the Teaneck International Film Festival, will accept the honor on behalf of the organization. TIFF is an annual event that presents a collection of compelling and imaginative feature-length films, documentaries and shorts.
National President of the Links Inc. Dr. Kimberly Jeffries Leonard, along with the chapter’s Area Director Dr. Shuana Tucker and Assistant Director Dr. Lisa Loury Lomas, will be in attendance at the luncheon.
