Alabama State University’s “ASU Choir” is performing Saturday, May 13 at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr. Kristofer Sanchack.

The performance is part of the New England Symphonic Ensemble’s appearance where Jill Burgett. will conduct Orff’s Carmina Burana, Pamela McDermott will conduct John Rutter’s Gloria, and Kristofer Sanchack will conduct Adolphus Hailstork’s I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes.

ASU’s choir is performing with the ensemble and several other distinguished soloists and choruses from Virginia, New Jersey, and Colorado.

ASU received an invitation from the venerable institution asking the ASU Choir to perform under Sanchack’s direction during the guest conducting engagement series in May 2023.

“This is, more importantly, an accomplishment and an honor for Alabama State University, the College of Visual and Performing Arts and our University Choir members…The Carnegie Hall performance is great for our school’s name; it will help us attract, recruit and enroll more students and enhance our programs’ already good reputation,” said Sanchack.
