Rev. Al Sharpton welcomed NYC School Chancellor David Banks to the weekly National Action Network (NAN) rally to speak about the “NYC Reads Program” and the “science of reading,” a new program to teach reading in public schools. Sharpton also spoke about the first anniversary of the shooting in Buffalo, New York, and the death of Jordan Neely in the city subway. Prayers were given for the victims’ families.
